THREE horse riders were injured after they were passed by an off-road motorcycle.
The incident occurred at 2.45pm on Sunday in the fields at the rear of the Ox pub / Oxhill villas, New Kyo and the motorcyclist, who did not stop, continued on the track towards Annfield Plain.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “The horses were passed by an off road motorcycle, ridden without any consideration, causing the horses to panic and unseat their riders.”
Police are now investigating and urging anyone with information to call the on 101.
