A PEDESTRIAN is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a lorry in the early hours of the morning.
The man, in his 20s, was hit on Leyburn Road in Catterick at about 5.15am on Saturday.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough after being hit by the heavy goods vehicle.
The collision, involving a white Renault HGV, happened between the camp centre and Plumer Road.
North Yorkshire Police said: "Local diversions were put in place while the emergency services worked at the scene and to allow a full police examination.
"The road reopened at around 10am.
"Officers are appealing for any information that could assist the investigation, including possible sighting of the man or the white Renault heavy goods vehicle prior to the collision."
