MAN STABBED: Police have arrested a boy, 16, after a man was stabbed in Market Street, Ferryhill on Wednesday night

A spokesperson for Durham police said a 16-year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A Ferryhill shopper said: “I heard the guy was badly wounded last night, people were saying he was stabbed in the leg. I don’t think anyone has been told anything about what happened or his condition. There’s blood all over the street though so I think it must have been bad.”

  • Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who has any information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting reference number 387, of November 22.
