THREE people have been arrested in connection with a robbery and fire at a convenience store.
Emergency services were called to the incident at the premises in Attwood Terrace, Tudhoe, near Spennymoor, just after 7.10pm on Sunday night.
A 38-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man have since been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and fraud.
Detective Inspector Neil Jones from Bishop Auckland CID said: “Following our enquiries, we have arrested three people who are currently in custody.
“We are still appealing to anyone for information and in particular to anyone who may have visited the store on Sunday afternoon to come forward."
