SUNDERLAND and Newcastle United’s Under-21s have learned who they will face at home in the last-32 of the Checkatrade Trophy.
The two Tyne & Wear clubs’ reward for progressing from their respective groups was to play at the Stadium of Light and St James’ Park, respectively, in the first knock-out round.
Sunderland will face League Two strugglers Notts County, while Newcastle U21s - who Sunderland could meet in later rounds - have been paired with Macclesfield Town.
Ties are set to be played on the week commencing December 3 and both teams are four wins away from a Wembley date.
