A WOMAN found on fire outside a house is in a critical but stable condition, police say.

Witnesses reported seeing residents from surrounding properties in the Middlesbrough street rushing to the aid of the woman after being alerted by the screams of a man, believed to be her husband.

The Northern Echo:

Several people came to the aid of the woman, who was outside of her Acklam Road home on Tuesday.

She reportedly suffered burns during an incident at the property, said to have happened at around 12.40pm.

Cleveland Police have also confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident

Several police vehicles remained at the scene on Tuesday night, with an officer stationed outside the semi-detached house, which is close to the Master Cooper pub.
