THERAPISTS from Bannatyne Spa in Darlington have received specialist training to offer a special programme of treatments for clients undergoing cancer treatment.

The Power of Touch, a cancer-focused training organisation for the spa industry, has trained staff from Darlington as well as Ingleby Barwick and Durham, to give them an insight into what clients may be going through both physically.

Over recent years, Bannatyne’s Spas have seen a rise in clients recovering from cancer, and it is hoped that the new services will offer an invaluable resource for many people.

Karen Wilkinson, Group Spa Director, said: “We already support Look Good Feel Better, a charity that helps female cancer sufferers to look and feel their best, but this training will allow us to take our spas to the next level and help clients approach recovery from a more holistic angle.”

Michelle Hammond, Founder of tpot said: “Living with cancer can be a very challenging time and turning people away can create great stress and unnecessary suffering. The Bannatyne Group has over 200,000 members accessing its clubs throughout the UK and has recognised the importance of educating teams."
