A MAN has been arrested after being found lying in the street of a market town earlier on Friday.
The 43-year-old was seen on the floor outside The Four Clocks centre, in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, at about 12.25pm.
The police were called after the man started "being abusive" to members of the public and was then arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.
He was taken to Bishop Auckland Police Station where he remains in custody.
