A LANDMARK bridge in the region is set to host an 160ft abseil to put them in the festive spirit.
The annual Santa on the Bridge event invites daredevils and thrillseekers to don a full Santa suit before climbing the 210 steps to the top of Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge.
Once at the top, the Father Christmas lookalikes will step backwards over the edge of a platform 48ft from the ground, abseiling straight down to the tarmac below.
This year's uniquely festive experience will be held on December 9 and is being held in aid of Age UK Teesside.
The charity supports over-50s in the region, aiming to promote wellbeing and independence.
Entry to the abseil is £15, to include Santa suits, and participants are asked to raise at least £60 in sponsorship to support Age UK.
