A MAN has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault on young girls.
Cleveland Police said a 57-year-old man, from the Redcar area, was arrested after an allegation of an incident involving two young girls in Thornaby on Saturday.
According to police, an unidentified man parked in a white van on Imperial Avenue, Thornaby, close to the junction of Langley Avenue, at about 1.35pm.
He is said to have got out of his vehicle and approached the two girls before allegedly sexually assaulting them.
On Tuesday, a Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "A 57-year-old man arrested in connection with allegations of two sexual assaults on two girls in Thornaby has been bailed with conditions whilst enquiries continue."
