TWO motorcyclists were killed on the same stretch of road on Saturday.
A 38-year-old biker from Merseyside was pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a red VW, a black Audi S3 and a blue Saab 93, at about 2.45pm on the A65 near Ingleton.
The VW driver, an 83-year-old woman from Keighley, was arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Later, at about 5.40pm, a 61-year-old biker riding a blue Suzuki GSX 1250 died after colliding with a silver Citroen Berlingo on the A65 just south of Settle. He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary but died a short time later. The driver of the Citroen was uninjured.
Sergeant Hamish Halloway from the Major Collision Investigation Team said: "Both of these devastating incidents happened on the A65 in the Craven area within a few hours of each other. I am appealing to anyone who was travelling on the A65 on Saturday to get in touch with North Yorkshire Police."
Call North Yorkshire Police on 101 with any information.
