Motorists asked to avoid A1 northbound following crash
TWO lanes of the A1 are closed because of a crash.
Police are currently dealing with the accident, which happened near the northbound slip towards the A184 in Gateshead, at junction 69.

It is understood three vehicles have been involved and lanes two and three are both blocked.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
