A DONATION of football kits meant primary school pupils could kick off their new term in style.

Students at the Federation of Abbey Schools will now be kitted out in matching Nike outfits when they take to the pitch.

The donation of 15 football shirts, matching shorts and socks came from the Premier League Primary Stars initiative, which offers teachers opportunities and resources in a bid to inspire children to learn while staying active.

A spokesman for the school said the youngsters would take pride in wearing a kit embossed with the Premier League logo, adding: “We were thrilled to receive our free kit for the school football team.

“Our school is a big fan of the curriculum linked resources which Premier League has on offer.

“Well done to the Premier League for promoting resilience and helping to engage children in their learning, not only in PE, but across all areas of the curriculum.”

Richard Scudamore, Executive Chairman of the Premier League said: “The Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment packs provide a fantastic boost to schools at the start of the new school year.

“We hope that coupled with the free downloadable online resources, we can inspire children to do their best in the classroom and on the sports field.”
