A CARE home boss is the latest business leader to agree to a charity ‘sleepout’ organised to help the homeless.

Justin Hutchens, chief at Darlington-based care company HC-One, will swap his home comforts for a sleeping bag as part of the upcoming CEO Sleepout Challenge.

He will join other chief executives in spending a night sleeping outdoors at Mowden Park RFC, where this year’s event will be staged on October 18.

Mr Hutchens - who is responsible for more than 19,000 care home beds in the UK, aims to raise £2,000 for charitable causes battling homelessness and poverty, including North-East organisations Changing Lives and First Stop.

A spokeswoman for HC-One said: “Justin, and the whole of HC-One, are delighted to support such worthy local causes and are looking forward to seeing their contribution make a big difference to their community.”
