TWO 10-year-old boys have been questioned by police after a ride-on tractor was thrown from a bridge on to a man who suffered a serious head injury.

Alan Taylor was walking his dog close to Cass House Road, Middlesbrough, when the child's toy hit him in the head.

The 69-year-old grandfather was left covered in blood from a gaping wound following the incident on September 23.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Police have interviewed two boys voluntarily. They are both aged ten.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Speaking shortly after the incident, Mr Taylor said the impact 'felt like a bomb going off'.

"It happened that quick," he said. "I glanced up and saw a young face and the next minute I felt the blood pouring down my head."
