A MAN was left with serious injuries to his arms after being stabbed in Redcar.

Police officers were called by the ambulance service to Station Road just after 8.40am on Sunday morning where the man was found with significant injuries to his arms.

He remains in James Cook University Hospital receiving treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "We appreciate residents may feel concerned following this incident, however at this stage we believe the suspect and the victim are known to each other therefore the public should not be unduly alarmed.

"Officers remain in and around Station Road providing a reassuring presence and continuing inquiries."
