A COMMUNITY film project will be premiered tonight.

Volunteers behind the In the Pink community project have been working hard on their film

- World War One Stories from the Gaunless Valley, which documents the lives of just some of the 244 servicemen from the area who died in the Great War, as well as looking at several aspects of life on the home front.

The Evenwood, Ramshaw and District History Society secured Heritage Lottery funding for the project and commissioned Crackin Toast to bring their vast amount of research to life.

The film includes interviews with experts as well as diaries and letters which are read by the living descendants of the original writers.

The film will be premiered for the first time at Evenwood Parish Hall tonight and tomorrow, both at 7.30pm. It will then be shown at 11 different venues across the Dales throughout October and November.

Screenings are free and on a first-come first-served basis. Small donations welcome. A keepsake DVD and accompanying book will also be available to buy at £5.
