SPECIAL events will be held at libraries across the county as part of the Family Learning Festival throughout October.

The festival is the biggest annual celebration of family learning in the UK, aimed at bringing families together for learning that is fun, informal and inspiring.

Coding sessions for families are among the activities planned and these will take place at libraries including Northallerton, Harrogate and Knaresborough.

Children’s poet Kate Wakeling will be at Ripon library reading from her prize-winning collection, Moon Juice, on October 13, from 10am to 11am.

At Northallerton Library there will be an exhibition of photographs and information featuring the former Northallerton prison site through the ages.

This will run from October 15 to November 3.
