WOMEN in the North-East are being encouraged to get an insight into a career in wealth management.

An event to inspire and connect women will be held by wealth management organisation, St James’s Place, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Newcastle, at 6pm on Wednesday, October 17.

The free event will welcome professional women in the region who might be considering a change of career.

They will be shown how to establish a career path as a professional adviser through the St James’s Place Academy.

Jason Flood, academy director, said: “We are calling for more women to join the financial advice profession.

“This event will give attendees the chance to see how others have found their way into wealth management, balancing a successful business with life outside of work.

“The academy’s training programme provides professional women with an unrivalled opportunity to build a career in wealth management.

“Twenty-four per cent of all people to have joined the academy since its launch are women, and this is a number we are determined to drive upwards by investing further in events such as this.”

Guests can then enjoy a gin tasting experience before the event closes at 8.30pm.
