A WOMAN is in custody after a man was allegedly stabbed in a shopping centre in Newcastle.
The 54-year-old man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, following the Friday's incident.
The suspected stabbing happpened outside one of the premises at Newbiggin Hall shopping centre, in Newcastle.
Police say the man was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were called to the scene at 10.07am on Friday.
One woman has been arrested and has now been charged with assault and possession of a weapon.
She has been remanded in police custody.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
