TWO residents part of a housing association panel which awards grants to local not-for-profit organisations have seen how some of the money is spent, after visiting the headquarters of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team.

A grant of £500 from Broadacres’ Community Development Fund was used towards the purchase of a trailer which helps the team to transport its water rescue equipment across the 1,000 square metres it covers across the region.

Rosemary Colebrook and Bob Cook visited the headquarters in Great Ayton to see the trailer and new garage which also previously received £500 funding.

Ms Colebrook said: “When we discussed the application from the mountain rescue team we were unanimous in approving it because they do an amazing job, often under dangerous conditions."
