DANIEL Harrison is very proud to be Headteacher of Ox Close Primary School in Spennymoor.

"The children of the school are our biggest asset and they are at the heart of our vibrant but very nurturing culture and ethos," he said.

"I really believe that every child has a talent and that is at the centre of our holistic approach and philosophy.

"Our academic results are outstanding and our mantra is to ‘be the best that you can be’, while behaviour was acknowledged as being outstanding in our OfSTED inspection in March 2018.

However, this mantra applies to all aspects of school life. It also applies to our wonderful staff, all of whom do their absolute utmost to do their very best for the children.

"The culture of learning amongst the staff was proven when we were awarded the Investors in People Gold Award in July 2018.

"The opportunities afforded to children in sport, art, performing arts and in outdoor learning are exceptional, providing evidence of what is a very broad offer.

"We have expertise amongst the staff in a wide range of areas, ranging from gymnastics to science and performing arts.

"Our partnerships with outside bodies help to boost our provision even more.

"Parents are given many opportunities to come into school throughout the time their children are pupils as this is a vital partnership to form.

"Choosing a school that is right for your child is crucial. Please come and take a look for yourself at one of our open events, which are scheduled for this term for Thursday, September 27 (9.15am) and Thursday 8 November 8 (9.15am). A Tour and EYFS Movement Session will take place on Wednesday October 17."
