AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has sustained serious head injuries in a crash.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the incident on Cordike Lane, Langton near Malton, shortly after 8am on Tuesday, September 18.

The cyclist was on his pedal cycle when it was involved in a collision with a green Toyota Hilux travelling towards Langton from Eddlethorpe and the cyclist was travelling from Burythorpe towards Acklam.

The rider of the pedal cycle, an 18-year-old man from the Malton area, was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries.

The occupants of the Toyota, a male driver and male passenger, were uninjured in the incident.

The road was closed until 11.45 am to allow police to work at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the cycle or Toyota prior to the collision is asked to contact police.
