A BODY has been found close to a pier in Hartlepool.
Cleveland Police have confirmed the discovery of a body belonging to a male close to South Pier in Hartlepool.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
South Pier was cordoned off by police after the body was discovered and four police vans, an ambulance and a crime scene van attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police: "At around 11.45am this morning, Tuesday, September 18, the body of a male was located close to South Pier in Hartlepool.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
