POLICE in Canada are appealing for help in solving a cold case, as they try to find the sister of a man man who went missing nearly 30 years ago.

Dennis Crook was reported missing to police in Canada by his friends on October 22 in 1985, after they had been unable to contact him for six days.

Dennis, who was 34-years-old at the time, has not been seen since.

Now officers from the Victoria Police Department in Canada are returning to the case and are trying to find his sister, Lillian Crook, who is known to have lived in the Holgate area of York.

Dennis was born in the UK and went to school in York and graduated from the University of Nottingham, but was in Canada at the time of his disappearance.

Dennis, now 66-years-old, is described as Caucasian, 5ft 9in with a medium to large build. At the time he had black hair. Investigators have no known photographs of Dennis.

A spokesperson for the Victoria Police Department said: “Lillian Crook, Dennis’ sister, is known to have resided in Holgate, York. Investigators are looking to find Lillian and speak with her.

“Our officers are reaching out to the North Yorkshire Police, as well as residents of Holgate as part of our efforts to locate Lillian and ultimately, Dennis.”
