A TREASURED motorbike has been stolen from a shed.
The burglary in Seaham is believed to have occurred overnight on Tuesday.
At some time between 11pm on Tuesday, September 11 and 7am yesterday, Wednesday, September 12 the thief or thieves approached a property on Wetherburn Avenue, in the town.
The suspect is then said to have gained access by unknown means before removing heavy duty chains from a red, black and white Beta RR motorbike.
The bike was then carried away from the address.
PC Tracy Cornfield, from Durham Constabulary, issued an appeal for information about the theft of the treasured vehicle.
She said: “The burglary has had a huge impact on the victim who works in mechanics.
"The bike was their pride and joy and we would urge anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen property to return it."
Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to call Durham police on 101, quoting reference number 61 of September 12.
