A TOURIST information centre is appealing for more volunteers to help keep the service running.
Volunteer Beverley Lawrence said the centre had recently changed its name from Richmond Tourist Information Centre to Richmond Information Centre to reflect the fact that many local people use the service.
She said: “Volunteers do a regular slot each week or the odd shift when they have time. RIC is open Monday to Saturday and follows Richmond Library opening hours.
“New volunteers get to know about the service by working with a regular member and only fly solo when they feel they are ready. It’s a sociable atmosphere and the volunteers find out about places and activities they’d like to try themselves.”
