A MAN twice flew into “a rage” and attacked his partner in the space of three weeks, a court heard.

Jordan Greensmith, 24, was jailed for 18 months over the outbursts, the second in front of their young children, both after drinking heavily.

Durham Crown Court was told the first, on May 19, arose from a petty argument, but led to him kicking her, throwing her down and throttling the asthma sufferer with such force she struggled to breathe.

Jonathan Harley, prosecuting, said in the second incident, at Crimdon Dene Caravan Park, he repeatedly punched her and bit her on the leg, on June 9.

Greensmith, of Rockingham Road, Sunnybrow, Willington, admitted two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, one each of assault by beating, criminal damage and resisting arrest.

Michael Cahill, mitigating, said Greensmith accepts the relationship is over due to his actions, his first violent offences as an adult.

Jailing him, Recorder Caroline Wigin also made him subject of a five-year restraining order.
