RESIDENTS and community groups are being asked to share their views about adult social care as part of a national consultation.

The Local Government Association (LGA) consultation is about how best to pay for social care and support for older people adults with mental or physical disabilities and unpaid carers.

Councillor Lucy Hovells, Durham County Council’s cabinet member for adult and health services said it was an “important opportunity” to have a say.

Residents and community groups have until Wednesday, September 26 to comment on the consultation, which can be found at www.futureofadultsocialcare.co.uk.
