MORE than a dozen cannabis plants have been discovered at a property in Darlington.
The 16 plants were discovered in a flat above Chaps Barbers on Neasham Road in Darlington following a fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Durham Constabulary and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service both attended the incident.
There was no one inside the property at the time of the discovery.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police discovered a cannabis grow of approximately 16 plants following a fire at a property on Neasham Road, Darlington yesterday, September 5, just after 3pm.
"No occupants were in the address at the time of the fire.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
