CLASSIC car and motorcycle enthusiasts will take their vintage motors out for a late summer spin on Sunday, September 9, when members of the Middlesbrough and District Motor Club descend on Saltburn.

Vintage petrol heads will meet in Cat Nab Car Park to show off their prized vehicles while a selection of classic cars and motorbikes test their age-old machines on the hill climb up Saltburn Bank.

The seaside showcase will include vehicles on display ranging from a British racing green Bentley to pristine Triumph and Norton motorcycles and a 1912 Crossley which has previously raced on Saltburn beach.

Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Communications, Cllr Carl Quartermain said: “Vintage vehicles will take over the Victorian seaside town on Sunday as a selection of classic cars and motorbikes roll into town.

The event brings together the owners of classic vehicles from across the region and the hill climb is an amazing spectacle which I would highly recommend.”

Long standing member of Middlesbrough and District Motor Club, Russell Armstrong said:

“The club hosts a number of similar shows throughout the year and was formed in 1905 and specialises in trials and classic vintage sprint and hill climb competition events.

We have been organising events at Saltburn for more than 100 years and the hill climb and gathering is one of my favourites and well worth a visit.”
