ACCLAIMED pianist Clare Hammond– winner of The Royal Philharmonic's Young Artist Award– will perform at a North venue this week.
Bishop Auckland Music Society's 2018 concert series will come to a crescendo of a finale when she performs in St Andrew's Church, South Church, Bishop Auckland, on Friday at 7.30pm.
Described as a pianist of ' amazing power and panache' (in The Telegraph), Clare was chosen to play on the film version of Alan Bennet's poignant Lady in the Van. Ms Hammond is recognised for the virtuosity and authority of her performance and has developed a reputation for brilliantly imaginative concert programmes.
Her programme on Friday will include work by Rachmaninov, Chopin, and Debussy amongst other beloved composers.
