FUN was had by all as a town put on its annual show on Saturday.

Thousands flocked to Jubilee Park, in Spennymoor, for the town's free event, which is now in its eighth year.

For the first time, super heroes courtesy of Sunderland-based Make My Day, made an appearance while the popular vintage cars and vehicles were also on display alongside police cars and fire engines.

Birds of prey, farm animals, a judo demonstration and craft stalls as well as the traditional produce show were also available.

And for youngsters there will be rides and activities as well as a Punch and Judy show and face-painting on offer.

The park's bandstand was filled with music as Spennymoor Town Band, Rainbow Singers and pop music solo artists Matthew Johnson, Holly Noble, Elena Larkin, Misti Heslop and Daniel Cole performed.

Spennymoor mayor, Clive Maddison, said the show was another huge success and the town council was glad to be able to put on the event.

"It's gone from strength to strength," he said. "I'm over the moon with how it's gone."
