THE inquest into a man who died in a fatal motorbike crash in County Durham has been adjourned.
Shaun (Dave) Neal, 46, was killed in a collision with a BMW on the A68 between Consett and Tow Law on September 2 last year.
An inquest review into the Jarrow man’s death yesterday heard the case had been delayed at the request of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Wayne Richard Gascoigne, of Front Street, Wolsingham, was charged with causing Mr Neal’s death by dangerous driving.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared at Durham Crown Court in May.
Crook Coroner’s Court heard a trial will go ahead on October 22 in Durham.
The South Tyneside man was after his death described as “a gentle giant” in a statement from his widow, issued by police.
Senior coroner Jeremy Chipperfield adjourned the case.
It is set to continue on November 5.
