A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries after being involved in a crash with a tractor.
The 49-year-old man was riding his Triumph Daytona motorbike in Middleton St George, near Darlington, when the crash happened on Saturday, August 25.
A John Deere tractor was the second vehicle involved in the incident with emergency services called to the scene at around 7.40pm.
After being assessed at the crash site, the motorbike rider was immediately taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where last night he remained in a "stable" condition, according to police.
Paramedics and police officers responded to 999 calls over the incident, with road traffic officers from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU) now investigating how the crash happened.
Any witnesses, drivers with dashcam footage of the incident or those with footage of the vehicles prior to the crash, is asked to contact PC Andrew Jobling of CDSOU, by calling non-emergency 101 number, quoting event number 156946.
