CALL handlers at North Yorkshire Police helped save the life of a vulnerable teenager who was found unconscious by officers.

The Force Control Room took to social media to say how proud they were of the call handler and the officers who saved the boy.

In a tweet, they said: “Tonight we responded to a call regarding a concern for a vulnerable young adult.

“Due to the immediate actions of call handlers, dispatchers and response officers, we managed to save this person’s life.

“Literally two minutes later and it would have been a very different story. Proud.”

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Just before 7pm on Thursday, August 23, North Yorkshire Police received information that indicated a teenage boy was in a vulnerable situation at his home address in York.

“Officers were immediately deployed to the property and forced entry where they found the boy unconscious.

“Ambulance crews also attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.”
