THIRSK MP Kevin Hollinrake has pledged to work with the Woodland Trust to support an ambitious tree planting aim.
Mr Hollinrake was recently given a tour round the Robson Spring Wood at Sproxton, near Helmsley, to learn how conservationists are returning native species such as ash, oak and alder to the woodland.
Mr Hollinrake met with the Woodland Trust Head of Government Affairs, James Cooper, and the woods’ site manager, Mark Feather, and said the environmental and human threats that trees face cannot be forgotten.
He added: “This is why I wholly support the Trust’s drive to plant thousands more trees, including many of our natural species such as oaks, ash and elder not only in these woodland areas but all over the country.
Mr Hollinrake pledged work with the Trust on its aim.
