A CHARITY fun day has managed to raise £600 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, despite bad weather on the day.
Garden and farm suppliers Sam Turner and Sons recently held its annual fun day at its venue on Darlington Road in Northallerton to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
A spokesperson for the business, Wayne Flanagan, said a lot of the planned outdoor activities had to be cancelled due to heavy rain, including an inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle, barbecue and birds of prey.
He added: “However, we still managed to move what we could indoors to accommodate customers – things like face painting, colouring competitions and Lego-building – with some people having already travelled up from the Midlands to attend.
“So, instead of cancelling the whole thing, we managed to turn a negative into a positive and are really proud to have raised £600 on the day for the fantastic Yorkshire Air Ambulance, despite what nature threw at us!”
