FOOTBALL fans can take a sneak look at a mounting myriad of memorabilia in a growing collection at a former station museum.
The Fans’ Museum, in North Bridge Street, Sunderland, is to be officially opened in coming months, but it is throwing opens its door to allow supporters a brief preview prior to forthcoming Black Cats’ home fixtures, against Sheffield Wednesday, in the Carabao Cup, on Thursday August 16, and against Scunthorpe United, in League One, on Sunday August 19.
It features old club strips, as worn by some of Sunderland’s all-time greats, relics from the club’s former home at Roker Park, old photographs, penants and other memorabilia.
The collection is on display in the former Sunderland Railway Museum, in the old Bridge Street North Station. Entry is free of charge.
