AN MP has cut the ribbon to officially open a new housing development in Stockton.
Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham visited the 200-home Jubilee Gardens development and had a look around the new show home, meeting with representatives from Barratt Homes and some of the construction staff involved in the build.
The housebuilder used timber frames to help reduce waste and the reliance on bricklaying.
Barratt said it had created 30 jobs on the Norton Road site throughout the building process and mostly employs local sub-contractors and tradesman.
Mr Cunningham said: "After campaigning for a long time for the works to start, it's brilliant now to see the site open and ready to welcome new homeowners to the area... and great to see a series of new.. affordable family homes right here in Stockton."
The development includes two, three and four bedroom homes with different house designs to suit a number of requirements.
Steven Ball, Sales Manager at Jubilee Gardens said: “It was brilliant to receive such recognition from MP Alex Cunningham and to have him launch the development."
