BOTCHED root canal treatment and a dentist’s failure to spot tooth decay led to a patient receiving £14,500 in compensation.
Gayle Dunkley, 47, from Pickering, North Yorkshire, won the compensation after her case was taken on by the Dental Law Partnership.
Analysis of her dental records revealed that X-rays taken as far back as August 2011 showed evidence of decay which her dentist had failed to spot.
He had also failed to carry out several root canal procedures correctly which caused Mrs Dunkley relentless pain.
The problem was only uncovered when she visited a dentist while in India on business.
The Dental Law Partnership took on Mrs Dunkley’s case in March 2015 and it was successfully settled in May 2018 with an out of court settlement.
A partial admission of liability was made on behalf of the dentist, who had been working at Yarnspinner’s Primary Health Care Centre in Lancashire at the time.
