VISITORS to a County Durham railway museum will be invited to reminisce on the power of steam, thanks to a solo art exhibition.

Locomotion, Shildon, will be hosting the exhibition by Yorkshire-based artist Chris Pulham.

Entitled, Railways on Canvas: The Art of Chris Pulham, the work will be on display in the museum’s Collection Building from August 19 to September 30.

Part of Locomotion’s Steam Season, the exhibition is the culmination of seven years of work by Ms Pulham, featuring paintings which are sure to bring back memories from the glorious days of steam on Britain’s railways.

The artist has a life-long passion for steam locomotives, and her paintings are inspired by her early memories and, more recently, visits to heritage and preserved railways and railway museums throughout the North of England.

Locomotion is open from 10am to 5pm daily and parking and admission are free of charge. For more information, call the museum team on 01904-685780.
