PLACES are filling up fast for an exhilarating North East obstacle course.

Muddy Mayhem, organised by Durham County Council, will return to Sedgefield’s Hardwick Park for the seventh year on September 30.

The 5km circuit features elements of horse trials, motocross, rock climbing and incorporates more than 40 man-made and natural obstacles.

There is also an option to go around the course twice and complete a 10km run.

Dawn Watson and her friends have taken part in the event for the past three years and are looking forward to completing it again.

She said: “We booked up pretty much straight after last year’s event in October. We simply love doing it as a team. How often can you dress as a Minion and run over hot fire?”

Cllr Ossie Johnson, Cabinet member for tourism, culture, leisure, and rural affairs, said: “Places are filling up fast, with some waves already sold out so I’d recommend anyone thinking about taking part to sign up quickly.”
