PUPILS took part in a school contest based on television’s The Crystal Maze recently, as part of an initiative to improve team work and encourage their development.
About 600 pupils from Years 7,8 and 9 took part in the event at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College at the end of term.
Teams of pupils faced against-the-clock challenges such as balloon-popping, jigsaw-making and an assault course, which tested the participants' agility, problem-solving and lateral thinking.
The event culminated with the teams’ winning points converted into allocated seconds to spend in the Crystal Dome. Once inside students had to grab as many winning golden tickets as they could as they were blown into the air.
The challenge was based on Channel 4's The Crystal Maze and was part of the school’s enrichment activities to encourage pupils’ development and team-working skills.
The event was organised with the help of Sixth Form students.
