TWO men have appeared at court charged with kidnap and modern day slavery offences in County Durham.
Terrance Jones, 25, is charged with kidnap and Daniel Jones, 44, is charged with kidnap and modern day slavery, both in connection with an incident in Shildon on Sunday.
The pair, of Burnside Road, Darlington, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday where they entered no pleas and were remanded in custody.
The incident is believed to have happened at around 9.30pm on Sunday night.
Two men and a woman allegedly forced entry into a property on Dean Street, assaulting a man inside before removing him from the address and transporting him to another location.
A police spokesman said the alleged victim was located fit and well on Monday and is receiving specialist care.
The woman remains outstanding and police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference 575 of July 22.
The pair are due at Durham Crown Court on August 24.
