THIRSK and Malton's Tory MP Kevin Hollinrake has called for a new financial services tribunal to be established to ensure justice for businesses when they are in a dispute with their banks.

In a report entitled "Fair Business Banking for All" Mr Hollinrake, who is co-chair of the All-Party Group of Fair Business Banking, offers solutions to problems faced by small business accessing justice in banking disputes.

“Over the last ten years we have witnessed disgraceful business banking scandals unfolding that have destroyed thousands of businesses and countless jobs," he said.

"It is clear to me and to other members of the APPG that there is a systemic failure, with many of the firms that have suffered from disgraceful mistreatment and malpractice by their own bank denied access to justice."
