A CHARITY football match is taking place on Sunday in Darlington in memory of Stephen Craggs.

Friends, family and ex-teammates of Mr Craggs, 30, of Marina Road in Darlington, who died suddenly last July, will be involved in the game with money raised going to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

A raffle and tombola will take place, with prizes including tickets to see Justin Timberlake in Manchester, a signed and framed 1966 World Cup photograph, and tea for two at Redworth Hall, and organisers say there are lots of other items up for grabs.

There will also be a “nearest to the pin” challenge, bouncy castles and music.

The event, at Darlington RA, starts at 1pm and the game kicks-off at 1.30pm.

Mr Craggs was killed when he was hit by a Transpennine Express train about four miles north of Darlington Railway Station at about 3.30pm on Friday, July 7.

An inquest held in September last year heard the reasons behind his death “will remain a mystery”.
