HORSE mad youngsters returned home with three dozen rosettes after taking part in the Riding for the Disabled Association National Championships.
Disabled riders from the Stokesley Riding for the Disabled group and their counterparts at the Unicorn Centre, in Middlesbrough, made the 460 mile round trip to compete in the championships in Gloucestershire.
The 27 youngsters, whose travel was paid for by a grant from the People’s Postcode Lottery, bagged 36 rosettes between them after competing in classes including the dressage and countryside challenge.
Unicorn Centre assistant yard manager Katie Addison said: “Our group absolutely loved it.
“We even competed in a new class this year – pairs dressage, getting two rosettes for fourth and fifth.
“We have one pairs team who have been together for years and are great friends outside the centre, and it was so sweet to watch them compete together.”
