A SPECIAL workshop for sports clubs who use social media is taking place at the Civic Centre in Northallerton on July 18 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Pony rescued

FIRE crews from Acomb, Tadcaster and Malton were sent to Askham Bogs near York to rescue a pony that had become stuck in four feet of muddy water shortly before 2pm on Monday. The animal was released unharmed by the crews using manpower.

Grass fire

FIRE crews from both the Whitby and Goathland stations dealt with a grass fire by the railway line at Goathland at about 11.30am on Sunday. They extinguished approximately 200 metres of grass which was on fire using backpack sprayers and two hoses.

Repair cafe
