OWL Watch in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has had reports of 243 birds spotted since a campaign was launched earlier in the year. Postcards to record information with instructions and a guide to how and what to spot are available through Masham community office, GP surgeries, schools and shops throughout the AONB. War play
A PLAY that charts the beginning of First World War to its conclusion will be shown at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold on Friday, July 6 at 7.30pm. Tickets to the show, Meet Tommy Atkins, are £12 from 01347-822472.
Security day
POLICE will be security marking items for free at East Cowton Village Hall on Saturday, July 7, between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Pop-up art
AN online art gallery is staging its first pop-up exhibition as part of the Ryedale Festival at Helmsley Art Centre, running until Friday, August 31. HobbyHorse Art was founded in May this year by Millie Seligman, and aims to showcase a wide ranging mix of art. For more information, go to hobbyhorseart.com
Shared cash
BEDALE's community meals on wheels service have offered to share money raised from the car boot sale at Bedale Hall Park on July 14 with the town’s community library. Earlier sales in the year which were due to be run by the library group had to be cancelled because of bad weather.
